Work experience
Queensland Government understands that we all need to start somewhere. So, where possible, we provide work experience opportunities to students who want to learn a little more about their chosen job or career.
Work experience opportunities are generally provided to students from Queensland secondary schools and organised through the school careers advisor. They are a form of unpaid employment that allows a student to experience the hands-on components of a given job.
To see if you're eligible, speak to your school's careers advisor or follow one of Queensland Government departments' links below for more information on their Work Experience Programs.
Programs
The following Departments are currently offering Work Experience Programs within their areas of responsibility. Contact other Departments directly if you wish to enquire if they are planning any Work Experience Programs of their own in the near future.
